Florida Pet Photography | Road Trips!
Posted on July 24, 2010
As many of you know, my first love is photographing dogs. My second love is playing agility with them! While we are currently taking a little break due to the summer heat down here in Florida, I’m starting to plan my fall agility trial schedule. If you have been thinking about having a pet photography session with me, and live outside of the Southwest Florida area, there’s a good chance that I’ll soon be heading your way!
Here is my tentative travel schedule:
West Palm Beach: August 13-15
Ocala: September 24-26
Miami: October 21-24
Jacksonville: October 28-31
Vero Beach: November 19-21
If you live in or near one of these areas and are interested in a session with Simply Spotted Photography, please contact me so that I can add you to my interest list.
And for my Indiana friends and fans, I will likely be making my annual trip back to Indy sometime in September or October. I offer a limited number of sessions and last year they filled quickly, so please let me know if you are interested. As soon as I know my exact dates, I will post an update.
Poor Peyton thinks Florida summers are rather boring, and he can’t wait for his next road trip!

Meet Angel
Posted on July 19, 2010
Angel is a 5 year old Lab/Golden mix - I think that makes her a Labragolden? In any case, she is a very sweet, very playful, and very pretty girl!

Angel is pretty much a frisbee nut - *all* she wanted to do is play with the frisbee. So we played! I just love her expression in this image…so intense!

Unfortunately Angel got pretty hot playing outside and started to look a little like a grizzly bear with the world’s largest tongue…

So we decided to move inside so she could cool off. Luckily for me, I had a beautiful red wall to work with!

And finally one more image of Angel’s kitty friend. Sorry kitty…I don’t remember your name, but please don’t jump on my head!

Thanks again to Angel and her family for a great session!

Just a quick little peek of Angel…and a cute little kitty too!

Meet Barkley | Beagle Puppy Love
Posted on July 16, 2010
Meet Barkley, a 12 week old Beagle who has to be one of the sweetest puppies I’ve ever met (and I’ve met quite a few!). To call her adorable would be an understatement - her itty bitty teeth, plump puppy belly and oh my, those *ears* - ! - she is an absolute doll.
Barkley’s mom is a first time dog owner and she is totally smitten with this sweet little girl. I loved watching how cute they were together - so much so that I actually had to remind myself that I was supposed to be taking pictures! Have I mentioned how much I *love* puppies?!
As much as I believe that anytime is the perfect time to photograph pets, puppies are only puppies for so long - they grow up so fast! And even though I have many puppy pictures of my spotty dogs, I really do regret not taking more. So my advice for my puppy owning friends is to take LOTS of pictures! And they don’t all need to be professional - although I would be *more* than happy to help out. *GRIN*
Kelsey, thank you again for having me over to meet and photograph Barkley - she is most definitely a keeper. You two are going to have *so* much fun together!

Rascal + Bolo + Lucy
Posted on July 16, 2010
As promised, here are a few more of my favorites of my three Aussie friends, Rascal, Bolo and Lucy. And they really are friends - these guys train at SOTC (Sarasota Obedience Training Club) and I think I’ve had each of them in one of my classes at some point. And yes, in addition to being super cute, they are all very good students!
Rascal is already a little agility star and he’s just an all-around great dog. Very happy and *very* ball crazy!

Bolo is also a rising agility star - he is soooo fast and so much fun to watch!

And last, but certainly not least, is Lucy. She has the most *amazing* eyes…this first picture cracks me up!

Big thanks to the Aussie gang for letting me spend the afternoon with you - I had so much fun!
Aussie Power!
Posted on July 6, 2010
Ah, my poor little neglected blog…one of these days I might get back on schedule, but in the meantime, I’ve been staying busy and having lots of fun with some awesome pups! Or in this case, perhaps I should say aussome?
Meet Rascal, Lucy, and Bolo - three ADORABLE miniature Aussies, who are also rescues! These guys have sooooo much energy - they make my spotty dogs look like real couch potatoes. I had such a great time with them, and will be sharing more of my favorites soon.
I hope everyone had a nice, long holiday weekend! Peyton and I are heading up to Georgia tomorrow for a four day agility trial - FUN!

Meet Bimini
Posted on June 22, 2010
Bimini is such an awesome girl - she’s a perfect example of just how wonderful a shelter pup can be. Sweet, smart, playful, and absolutely gorgeous! Although her exact mix is unknown, her mom thinks she might have some Ridgeback in her - I think that’s definitely a possibility, especially after watching her move. And her eyes are amazing - thoughtful, inquisitive, and very expressive!
Although our recent session was focused primarily on Nala, her older sister, I’m so glad that I got the chance to spend some time with Bimini. She was so much fun! Here are just a few of my favorites…

Meet Nala
Posted on June 7, 2010
I shared one of Nala’s images on Facebook last week with the comment that I *love-love-love* senior dogs. I though it was funny when one of my fans replied “Face it Kim…you love every dog!!”. And indeed, this is very true - BUT - seniors are extra special in my book.
While I have always been fond of them, it wasn’t until Pongo reached his senior years that I began to really truly appreciate senior dogs. And now that Pongo is gone, that appreciation continues to grow. I’ve been so fortunate to meet and photograph some very special seniors lately and it is has been such an honor. *Love* them!
Nala is 14 1/2 years young and one of my favorite breeds - a Belgian Malinois. Even though she has some hind-end weakness, she has a very playful personality and was happy to chomp on her tennis ball and big pink stuffie during our session. She’s such a happy girl, with a beautiful smile and some fabulous expressions…although I’m pretty sure she thought I was just a little crazy for all the rolling around in the grass I was doing!

*My* ball. Back off, crazy girl…

*Oops!*

Thank you Tiffany and Nala - I hope you love these images as much as I do!

Emerson + Elliott
Posted on June 3, 2010
A quick peek of Emerson and Elliott - I had the pleasure of meeting these two right before they made a big move to Southern Indiana!
I’ll admit that I have a hard time telling them apart, but I believe that Emerson is on the left and Elliott is on the right. And I think that’s Emerson sporting that great smile below. I hope their mom jumps in to correct me if I’m wrong! Thank you Susie, for having me over to photograph your boys…I hope you are all getting settled and your pups are enjoying their new home!
