I’m starting to think that it must be black lab week! No complaints here though – I happen to love labs and Lucky was no exception. This pretty girl is almost three years old and is also a rescue. (Hooray for rescue pups!) She was a great little model and even though we had to cut our session short due to thunder in the area (she is *not* a fan), I still managed to get some nice shots, and had a great time with her and her family. Lucky is one very lucky girl!
I love-love her eyes, and that smile – what a happy girl!
Here Lucky is demonstrating her awesome “leave it” skills…very impressive!
And finally, Lucky showing off her pout – who could possibly resist that face?!

Meet Blue, Mick’s big sister and one of the coolest dogs I know. And just like Mick, she has one blue eye and one brown eye. She also isn’t a big fan of having her picture taken, but wasn’t about to let Mick get all of the attention. I love how she managed to casually make her way into some of these shots!

Remember Mick, the extremely cute great dane/lab puppy I posted about a few weeks back? Well, he’s getting bigger every day – and apparently he’s decided that my camera is *not* to be trusted. I really can’t blame him…I have heard that big cameras are known to swallow up cute puppies!
With the help of some cookies, I think I almost have him convinced that being a doggie supermodel isn’t that bad. Almost. In the meantime, he’s earned the nickname “Mick Chicken”. Thankfully, even though he doesn’t love the camera, I think the camera still loves him – I just love his expressions!
More of Mick Chicken and his big sister Blue coming soon…

Saturday morning I had the pleasure of photographing Mysti, a 6 year old Lab/Border Collie mix, at GT Bray park in Bradenton. What a sweetheart! Even though it was incredibly hot, she was more than happy to romp around and explore. Mysti’s dad wanted some pictures that actually show some detail in Mysti’s pretty face, so I’m hoping that he’ll love some of these shots as much as I do. Thanks Kevin, for letting me capture your sweet girl!

Last Thursday I attended the first “Dining with Dogs” event at Lakewood Ranch – unfortunately I couldn’t stay for the whole event, but I did manage to snap a few pictures of two very cute pups while I was there – the first is Yogi, followed by Zeppelin…as in Led Zeppelin!
Every third Thursday of the month, participating Lakewood Ranch restaurants will offer special incentives for those dining with their doggies (in the outside patio areas) from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Last week the Humane Society of Manatee County and Woof Gang Bakery were also in attendance. Thank you to everyone who stopped by my Simply Spotted Photography booth, and congratulations to Tina for being selected as the lucky winner in my portrait session giveaway!

I am so excited to announce that the summer 2009 issue of The GulfCoast DOG magazine is now available online. And featured on the cover is none other than (drum roll please…) one of my favorite photos of Riley the Golden Retriever!
It’s truly an honor to have one of my photographs gracing the cover of this exceptional magazine. In my opinion, it’s one of the very best dog magazines around – not only for the fabulous content, but because you just can’t find a greater supporter of the Florida pet community! I know the publishers put their heart and soul into providing a top notch publication for their readers AND somehow manage to find the time to support countless local events, animal rescues, and dogs in need.
Please check out the latest edition of The GulfCoast DOG Magazine online – and be sure look for the print version to arrive soon to a pet friendly retailer near you! Oh, and be sure to check out the information on The GulfCoast DOG Pet Extravaganza coming up on Saturday, October 17. 2009 at the Sarasota Bradenton International Convention Center. If you’re a pet lover in Florida, this is one event you will not want to miss!

Peyton and I are still trying to recover from our last two weekends of agility trialing, but I thought I would share a few pictures of my spotty boy, who has decided that staying in a hotel is great fun! We stayed at the Microtel in Perry Georgia and I have to say this was a wonderful hotel – the rooms were a little on the small side, but clean and very modern. And best of all, they had fresh chocolate chip cookies every night!
If you are interested in seeing some of our runs, they can be viewed on my YouTube channel. Peyton and I both agree that traveling is downright exhausting!

These past few weeks have been very busy around here! I spent last weekend at a statewide agility competition in Orlando and tomorrow I’m leaving for Perry, Georgia for a 4 day AKC agility trial. All this trial preparation has left very little time for sharing pictures, but I promise I’ll work on getting caught up next week!
In the meantime, Indy would like to remind everyone to take some time to get out and enjoy summer!

Mick is an 8 month old Great Dane/Lab mix puppy with the most amazing eyes ever! He’s absolutely adorable *and* he has spots – I think he would fit in just perfect with my spotty dogs, don’t you think?
Since it’s a gloomy morning here in (not-so-sunny) Florida, I thought I would share a few fun and funky shots to help brighten your day…
