Erika the Cellist
Posted on October 29, 2009
Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Erika, a young but already very accomplished musician. This girl has crazy talent – and she’s still in high school! I had a lot of fun with her – she is extremely sweet and photographs beautifully. Here are just a few of my favorites…

Pet Extravaganza Portrait Preview
Posted on October 18, 2009
The 2009 Pet Extravaganza was a success! It was such a fun day and I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to meet so many nice people and their pups. A special thanks to The GulfCoast DOG Magazine for all of their hard work, and for bringing the Florida pet loving community together for a great event!
Here’s a little preview of some of the portraits I took at the event – more coming soon!

I just had to include another shot of Owen, because he reminds me of a cartoon character – so animated!

Brodie the Boxer
Posted on October 16, 2009
Yesterday I had a little session with Brodie the Boxer! Brodie’s mom is looking for a good head shot to match a picture I did for her last year of her Boxer Brahma. When it comes to people, Brodie is a little shy – actually fearful is a better word. But that’s okay – having a fearful dog myself, I can relate! And if anything, it’s given me a lot of helpful experience when it comes to photographing dogs who would rather not be my best friend.
Despite not wanting anything to do with me or my camera, we still got some really nice shots. Brodie is a very handsome guy, and proof that even shy dogs can shine in front of the camera!

And finally, here’s a shot of Brodie’s brother Brahma, who was waiting patiently in the car…

I’m so excited to be participating in The GulfCoast DOG Magazine’s 2009 Pet Extravaganza that is coming up this Saturday, October 17 at the Sarasota/Bradenton International Convention Center. This is going to be a GREAT event! There will be over 125 pet related vendors from around the country, animal rescue groups, agility, flyball, and obedience demos, guest speakers, fun activities for the kids, lots of great giveaways, and MUCH MORE! Admission is only $5 for adults, $3 for kids 6 and over, and free for children 5 and under. Well-behaved dogs (on-leash) are also welcome! For more information, please click here.
In addition to having a booth, I’m also going to be offering mini portrait sessions, with a portion of the proceeds going to the animal rescue groups in attendance. You can also sign up to win a free session – please stop by and say hello!

Chief Waldo + Biker Brock
Posted on October 12, 2009
Olive the ballerina is a tough act to follow, but Chief Waldo and Biker Brock are pretty darn cool. I love Waldo’s costume (hand-made, by the way) and Brock pulls off the biker look very well…although he really isn’t a tough guy! I had such a great time – thank you Kristi (and family) for having me over for some early Halloween fun!

Olive the Ballerina
Posted on October 12, 2009
Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing three awesome pups! I met two of them earlier this year so I knew that this was going to be a really fun session. And I certainly wasn’t disappointed – three dogs + costumes + five human wranglers + cheese = a big mess…but it was so much FUN! I thought I’d start with pictures of little Olive, who is going to be a ballerina this Halloween – what a perfect costume for this pretty girl!

Waldo’s Tattoo
Posted on October 11, 2009
This morning I photographed my good doggie friends Waldo and Olive (and a new friend named Brock) in their Halloween costumes. They were all extremely cute and I’ll have pics up soon, but first I had to share a picture of Waldo and his dad’s very cool tattoo! When I found out that he had gotten a tattoo made from one of the pictures I took during our last session in March, I was so excited – I’m pretty sure this is the first time one of my images has been made into a tattoo!
So here’s a few pictures of Waldo and his tattoo – note the olive on the toothpick (in honor of his little sister) – way cool!

More Peyton + The Ball
Posted on October 7, 2009
As promised, here are some more pictures of Peyton! Did I mention that he’s just a little bit ball crazy? In every single picture I took of him, he’s either chasing the ball, carrying the ball, watching the ball, retrieving the ball out of the swimming pool, or looking for the ball. IT’S ALL ABOUT THE BALL! What a cool little dog he is…

Peyton – A Peek!
Posted on October 5, 2009
Meet Peyton, a two year old Yorkie/Poodle mix. Not only does he share the same name as one of my spotty dogs, he also happens to be a Colts fan – how cool is that?! I fell in love with this little guy during our session – he’s black & white, absolutely adorable, and full of personality. Oh, and he is also a tennis ball fanatic! Look for more Peyton pictures coming soon…
