I’d like to thank everyone who participated in my pet portrait day at Holistic for Pets in Bradenton – I hope you and your pups had as much fun as I did! Here are a few more previews of the wonderful dogs (and one very adorable girl) that I met during our sessions last week…

The Holidays are very sneaky…one day it’s the middle of summer and the next thing you know, it’s Thanksgiving! I don’t know about you, but it’s seems as though I have misplaced the months of September and October. It just doesn’t seem possible that December is almost here and pretty soon, we’ll be welcoming in the New Year.
A few nights ago I was dwelling on this realization and found myself feeling very overwhelmed – I’m not ready for the Holidays! I started thinking about my “to-do” list that is miles long, the events I have coming up, and all of the other little things that come along this time of year. It’s not that I don’t love the Holidays – it’s just that well, every year they seem to come a little faster than the previous.
Just as the panic was starting to set in, I checked my voicemail and listened to one of the nicest, most complementary, and sincere messages I have ever received from one of my clients. And although it made me a little teary, it absolutely made my day. It was a nice little reminder of just how fortunate I am to be able to do something that I love and through my work, I can hopefully bring some joy to others.
And since today is Thanksgiving (I’m really not in denial), I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my clients – past, present, and future – for allowing me the opportunity to meet and photograph your pets. I truly do understand how special they all are and I’m sincerely grateful for the time I get to spend with each and every one of them. I have the best job ever – and it’s because of you.
I’m also thankful for my wonderful family, my friends, and my three crazy (but awesome) spotty dogs who manage to inspire me every single day. This Thanksgiving I’m especially thankful that Pongo (my senior Dalmatian) is still here with us. He had a few rough weeks back in the summer and I wasn’t sure that he was going to make it to his 15th birthday. And while thankfully he seems to be feeling pretty good these days, it’s certainly been a reminder that every day is a gift – and not just with our senior dogs, but with *all* of our loved ones.
So here’s to not dwelling on the “to-do” lists and instead taking the time to enjoy the Holidays with those you love – Happy Thanksgiving!

I had a great time at my pet portrait day at Holistic for Pets on Monday! We had a very diverse group – from an (itsy-bitsy) Chihuahua to a (great big) Great Dane – some really neat dogs! I’ll be posting some more previews soon, but here’s a little peek…

Today I stopped by the Canine Christmas event at Bishop Animal Shelter in Bradenton to meet and photograph this young spotty boy for Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay. Howie J is just 4 1/2 years old and is a Dalmatian/Pointer mix. He is very sweet and I understand that he just adores children! For more information on Howie J and other nice dogs available for adoption, please click here to visit Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay online.

Ahhh, I love Doxies! I can’t remember if I mentioned it before, but I grew up with a little miniature black and tan Dachshund so I’m just a little partial to the breed. Mikey is very handsome and full of spunk – you wouldn’t dare tell him that he’s a “little” dog! I think he and Tulip make a perfect pair, and I have to thank their family for having me out for a really fun session. I had a hard time picking favorites, but here are just a few…

Tulip might be tiny, but she’s got big personality! Not only is this little Papillon girl very cute and very sweet, but she also happens to be one of the most talented little dogs I have ever met. Her mom is an awesome clicker trainer and both Tulip and Mikey know more tricks than I can count. They are also learning agility and freestyle dancing – a very talented (and young) pair, that’s for certain!
I’ll be posting some more pictures of Mikey soon, but in the meantime please enjoy a few of my favorites of Tulip. I’m absolutely in *love* with her itty-bitty teeth in the first shot – isn’t she just adorable!?

I spent this past weekend in beautiful Vero Beach where I met two very delightful young pups. Mikey is a miniature dachshund and Tulip is a Papillon – they were both full of personality and a pleasure to photograph! I had a really great time watching them play, romp on the beach, and show off all of their amazing tricks. I’ll be posting more pictures of these two soon, but in the meantime, here’s a little peek!

Meet Lacey and Rae, two of my very cute Brittany friends from SOTC. They are both really good girls, although I have to say Lacey is just a wee bit of a camera hog. At 9 months of age, she’s still very much a puppy and thinks that all attention should be on her, all of the time! And not that I can blame her – it’s really not her fault that she’s so adorable and completely irresistible! Rae is a beauty too (when she wasn’t giving me the most pathetic pouty faces) and together, I think they make a great pair.

I met Oliver the Bichon yesterday, and this little guy was so much fun! He’s only 7 months old, but already very confident, well mannered, and just extremely cute. He was such a natural in front of the camera, although being such a good model must have been really hard work as he almost fell asleep on me a few times. I don’t think I’ve ever had that happen before – I didn’t realize I was *that* boring!
Anyway, we had a great time and I’m in love so many images from his session! Here are just a few of my favorites…
I had to save my very favorite for last – I think little Oliver might just be laughing at me here…
