Three peas in a pod. That’s how I would describe this little family – each one different and special in their own way, but together they make the perfect little trio. I just love them!
First up is Phoebe, a Dachshund/Beagle mix. She’s such a sweet girl and (as I previously mentioned) has the *best* ears! I love how different they look in every image. And those eyes…such a supermodel!
Rod, the Puggle, is such a funny guy – he cracks me up! He also has some talent in the multiple ear personality department – clearly learned from Phoebe. : )
And last, but not least, Zoe! This is one awesome little cat. She’s very friendly, but like many cats I’ve worked with, a little kitty paparazzi work (and catnip!) was involved. I love her markings…such a pretty girl!
Super big thanks to these guys for an awesome session!

I had a fabulous time working with this awesome trio last weekend! I’ll be sharing more images soon, but in the meantime here’s some introductions…
Phoebe = Best. Ears. Ever.

Meet Gizmo and Jazz, two very sweet girls that haven’t always had such a happy life. They were both rescues from the Humane Society of Sarasota County, but were certainly not “easy” adoptions. Gizmo spent a lot of time in the shelter and was labeled un-adoptable because she was so fearful, and Jazz was returned to the Humane Society *four* times before she found her forever home. And what a perfect home they now both have! Thanks to their awesome humans (including a HSSC volunteer mom!), these two are proof of just how much love, patience. and positive training can do.
These girls are both around 6 years of age and are very active – both train and compete in the sport of flyball and Jazz recently received her first two legs toward her novice rally title! Don’t they just look like two peas in a pod? Clearly they were meant for each other…
Gizmo cracks me up – she’s a very clever girl. I think her mom is a little sad to see her “greying”, but she’s still a beauty!
An Jazz is so expressive – she has such beautiful brown eyes. I don’t see how anyone could *not* fall in love with her!
Big thanks to Gizmo, Jazz and family for a fun session *and* for being such an inspiration for rescue dogs everywhere – shelter pups rock!

Angel is a 5 year old Lab/Golden mix – I think that makes her a Labragolden? In any case, she is a very sweet, very playful, and very pretty girl!
Angel is pretty much a frisbee nut - *all* she wanted to do is play with the frisbee. So we played! I just love her expression in this image…so intense!
Unfortunately Angel got pretty hot playing outside and started to look a little like a grizzly bear with the world’s largest tongue…
So we decided to move inside so she could cool off. Luckily for me, I had a beautiful red wall to work with!
And finally one more image of Angel’s kitty friend. Sorry kitty…I don’t remember your name, but please don’t jump on my head!
Thanks again to Angel and her family for a great session!

Just a quick little peek of Angel…and a cute little kitty too!

Bimini is such an awesome girl – she’s a perfect example of just how wonderful a shelter pup can be. Sweet, smart, playful, and absolutely gorgeous! Although her exact mix is unknown, her mom thinks she might have some Ridgeback in her – I think that’s definitely a possibility, especially after watching her move. And her eyes are amazing – thoughtful, inquisitive, and very expressive!
Although our recent session was focused primarily on Nala, her older sister, I’m so glad that I got the chance to spend some time with Bimini. She was so much fun! Here are just a few of my favorites…

Tessa is 12 1/2 years old young and is sweet, beautiful, and has such a wonderful personality. I just love her dark brown eyes and the little bit of pigment missing around her mouth that makes it look like she’s sticking her tongue out! Such a pretty, pretty girl.
Unfortunately Tessa was recently diagnosed with advanced bone cancer. I so wish that I had more appropriate words, but all I can say is…CANCER SUCKS. It’s just heartbreaking to see dogs like Tessa struggle with such a devastating disease. She was such a trooper during our session though, and was more than happy to hang out and show off some of her tricks (she has a *great* howl). Thank you Tessa, for putting up with me even though I know you’re not a big fan of the camera…what a good girl!
One thing is clear – Tessa loves her mom, and her mom loves her. Cheryl, thank you so much for inviting me into your home and letting me capture your sweet girl…I’ll be thinking of you both.

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of photographing Angelica’s entire canine crew – they were a really fun bunch! Well, this past weekend I headed back up to Tampa and this time I got to play with some of their friends and fellow students at Courteous Canine. Even though it was HOT (welcome to summer in Florida!) everyone seemed to have a great time. With several outdoor areas for agility, an indoor (air conditioned) training building, and a DOCK JUMPING POOL, what more could a dog possibly want!?
Suzi would like for me to get out of her way, thank you very much.
You may remember Keegan, the red Border Collie I photographed last December. Not only is he gorgeous, but he’s also incredibly athletic and I might even use the word “graceful” when I watch him on the agility course. Now Keegan, you know I adore you, and please don’t take this the wrong way…but I’m not sure you’re going to score any style points in the sport of dock jumping. But you’re still absolutely adorkable!
Perhaps Rumble can give you some pointers?
These were just a few of the pups who came out to play…hopefully I can share some more soon!
Last, but certainly not least – meet Power! He is Angelica’s new Border Collie pup and he is SO STINKIN’ CUTE!! Angelica is going to have so much fun with this little guy…that is unless he *accidently* makes his way over to my house when she’s not looking. I seem to have a never ending case of puppy fever, and Power is not helping it ONE. LITTLE. BIT.
Thanks again Angelica and friends for having me out to photograph your pups…you all did great! (And yes, even Keegan…who I’m guessing is not happy about me posting that photo and is now planning his revenge.)
