Meet Ipo | Bradenton Pet Photographer
Posted on April 9, 2010
Ipo (ee-po) is Hawaiian for precious, and it’s the perfect name for this 6 month old little girl. Ipo is sweet, yet sassy, and in the short time I spent with her, she managed to have me wrapped around her little paw. She wasn’t falling for any of my usual (and very reliable, I must add) tricks, and made it clear that if I wanted to take her picture, she must be compensated in treats…and don’t even think about being stingy! Such a smart girl…I just love her poodle curls, the little white patch on her chin, and the adorable kink in her tail. Her mom and dad certainly have their hands full, but I think they found the perfect match!
A big thank you to Ipo and family for a wonderful evening!

Meet Jake
Posted on December 20, 2009
I headed down to Venice yesterday afternoon to meet Jake, a 12 year (young) Chow/Husky mix and his family. What a fun bunch! Jake is a real sweet guy – I was warned that he never took treats from people he didn’t know, but within minutes we were best buds. What can I say; I bring good cookies! Jake has some serious rock-star hair complete with natural highlights, and the softest, thickest coat I think I’ve ever seen. I can only imagine the amount of shedding involved and I have Dalmatians – a breed known for shedding 365 days a year!
We had a great time, and I want to thank Jake and his family for having me over for a really fun session!

Meet Bella
Posted on December 13, 2009
Bella is a 3 year old Poodle/Fox Terrier mix – a very sweet girl and an absolute joy to photograph! We spent a few hours together last week and in keeping with her Terrier roots, she kept going and going and going…! We managed to cover a lot of ground in her Lakewood Ranch community, which I thought was the perfect backdrop for this beautiful girl. Oh, and don’t let the pictures of her running after the cranes fool you, Bella has fabulous manners and a great recall!
I had a fabulous time hanging out with Bella and her mom…a special thanks to both of them for a wonderful morning!

Mackey – In Memory
Posted on November 2, 2009
It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of sweet Mackey’s passing following a long battle with cancer. I met Mackey during my trip to Indiana this summer and if you missed his story and pictures from our session, you can find them both here.
As a pet photographer, I am so fortunate that I get to meet a lot of wonderful dogs and have the chance to spend some time with them and capture their unique personalities. While I have fond memories of each dog I photograph, and each is very special in their own way, there are some dogs that really manage to pull on my heart strings. Mackey was definitely one of these dogs – even though we had never met, I felt like somehow he understood why I was there and just how important his photographs would be to his family. He was a star.
My heart goes out to Mackey’s mom, but I am grateful that I had the chance to meet him and see what a special dog he was. I know that only time will heal her heart, but I’m so glad that I was able to give her images that will help to forever keep his memory alive.
Goodbye, sweet Mackey.

Tribute To A Best Friend
Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor….
then I remember,
it’s where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound….
then I remember,
It’s where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can’t be yours….
your golden voice is still.
But I’ll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I’ll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet above.

More Peyton + The Ball
Posted on October 7, 2009
As promised, here are some more pictures of Peyton! Did I mention that he’s just a little bit ball crazy? In every single picture I took of him, he’s either chasing the ball, carrying the ball, watching the ball, retrieving the ball out of the swimming pool, or looking for the ball. IT’S ALL ABOUT THE BALL! What a cool little dog he is…

Peyton – A Peek!
Posted on October 5, 2009
Meet Peyton, a two year old Yorkie/Poodle mix. Not only does he share the same name as one of my spotty dogs, he also happens to be a Colts fan – how cool is that?! I fell in love with this little guy during our session – he’s black & white, absolutely adorable, and full of personality. Oh, and he is also a tennis ball fanatic! Look for more Peyton pictures coming soon…

Meet Mackey!
Posted on August 13, 2009
Mackey is an 11 year old Rottweiler/Bull Mastiff mix who was diagnosed with terminal cancer in September 2008 and was given just one month to live. Well, it’s been nearly a year and he’s still going strong! Other than a slight limp, I thought that he looked fantastic and I can only hope that he continues to enjoy life as long as possible. He certainly is a very special and happy guy. A big thank you to his mom for having me out while I was in Indiana – I really enjoyed my time with Mackey and his brother Yogi, who you’ll be meeting very soon.
Mackey’s story is such an inspiration and a reminder that our time with our furry friends is much too short. Every day is such a gift – now go hug your pups!

Blue
Posted on July 29, 2009
Meet Blue, Mick’s big sister and one of the coolest dogs I know. And just like Mick, she has one blue eye and one brown eye. She also isn’t a big fan of having her picture taken, but wasn’t about to let Mick get all of the attention. I love how she managed to casually make her way into some of these shots!
